I have had a quite few requests over the last few months for information on making donations. This has taken me by surprise. I'm glad to see there are people out there who would like to contribute in exchange for the help I provide on my site. This page outlines a few options that I'd suggest you use if you'd like to make a donation.
This option allows you not only to thank me, but it will also help me as a developer, and in turn, help others as well. I try to keep this wish list up to date on the Amazon.com web site. The items on the list are mostly web development related books that I have been meaning to purchase but haven't had the necessary monetary sums to do so. (In other words, I'm broke - too many bills.) The rest of the stuff is mostly there for the sake of family and friends so they don't need to keep asking what to get me for birthdays, Christmas and such.
Anything that I pick up from books I read about web development has a great chance of making it onto this web site for others to read. After all, if you're willing to give back, I will do so as well, creating a never-ending cycle to benefit all.
The choice of publishing Google AdSense content wasn't intended as a way to generate money as much as it was to try it out. I work full time for an advertising agency where I do web development. I was asked about this service by a client and wasn't able to really give them much information; therefore, I signed myself up and started publishing the ads on my personal website. Any revenue that I am able to make from publishing the Google ads will be reverted back into this website through the purchase of items on my wishlist, server upgrades, bandwidth increases, etc.
I am not filtering the ads displayed on my site because this is not intended to be a revenue maker. Therefore, while you are reading some of my articles (the WYSIWYG Editor for instance), you may even see ads for other similar programs, services or websites. This is to your benefit. You may find something that better fits your needs than what I have posted here.
